LinkedIn profile optimization against real job posts.

Recruiters search LinkedIn by job title and skill words. A profile shows up when it uses the same words as the job posts it should match. So LinkedIn profile optimization starts with the posts, not the profile: find the roles you want, read what they ask for, then put those words in your headline, top skills, experience and about section.

By hand, you search two or three job boards, open the best posts and compare them with your profile line by line. With an agent, you paste one prompt. It reads your public profile, searches the boards for roles that fit, reads the best post in full and lists the gaps.

The run below did this for an AI automation founder in Jakarta who asked for related jobs and profile tips. This page leaves the person unnamed.

LinkedIn's public job search, with the location set to Remote, returned 25 of 60 cards from 17 countries. Every card named a city or country, none was in Indonesia, and none showed a salary. Many are remote only inside one country or region. Indeed returned 15 jobs, 11 listed as remote, and 8 showed pay. Remote OK had one automation job, posted in August.

The top LinkedIn post, an AI Automation Engineer at TicketManager, is close to the work on the profile: n8n workflows, chat agents and LLM integrations for a live events and hospitality business. It is in office in California, pays $95,000 to $125,000 and had 200 applicants. The run did not check whether any listed company hires from Indonesia.

The about section is already strong. It names clients, the stack and results with numbers: 85% of support time back, 40% fewer tickets, report hours cut by 90%. Keep it. The gaps are in the fields recruiters filter on and the words they search for.

• Industry reads Movies, Videos and Sound. Set it to the industry of the jobs you want, such as IT Services and IT Consulting.
• One top skill is pinned. Fill all five with words from the posts: n8n, LLM integration, Python, chatbot development, workflow automation.
• The profile never says LLM, API, webhook or MCP. Add them where they are true, in skills and in the role descriptions.
• 3D animation tools sit beside the AI skills. Move them down or remove the ones you no longer want to be hired for.
• The first role listed is studio CTO since 2017. Describe the automation work in it, or lead with the AI role.
• All 8 certifications are marketing and analytics, and no project is an AI build. Add one AI project with a link and its numbers.
• No languages are listed. Add English with its level. If you want a job, add the target title to the headline and turn on Open to work for recruiters only.

The two profile reads cost $0.0057 and $0.0080, most of the run. The three job searches cost $0.0011, $0.0003 and $0.0003, and reading the top post cost $0.0012. The first two profile calls failed and cost nothing: one tool could not find the profile, and the agent sent the other the wrong request shape. It switched to the router, which tried two providers and billed the one that answered.

The tools read what LinkedIn and the job boards show a visitor. They cannot see search appearances, who viewed the profile or how LinkedIn ranks it for a recruiter. The suggestions compare words. They make a profile easier to find, not a sure match.

A Remote location filter does not mean remote from anywhere. Read each post for where the company can hire. The agent did not apply to any job or message anyone.
